A different way to view putting

In billiards our hands are spread so that you can control the cue stick. Can you imagine if you had to play pool with your hands together? It would be impossible. HammY style is going to give you the same control over your putter that pool players have over their cues.

In baseball, when you are trying to hit a home run, you have your hands together, just like in golf when you are trying to hit a drive 300 yards. But when you are trying to bunt the ball, you open your stance, face the pitcher with both eyes, and spread your hands.

What makes the hammY special?

Triple-Bend Shaft

The hammY is designed with an innovative triple bend shaft, allowing for a more consistent roll and feel. The triple bend shaft promotes a more natural forward press, which helps get the ball rolling to the target more accurately. Also, this revolutionary new shaft enables golfers to open their hips and stance for a balanced view of the sight line and target.

Split Grip

By having your hands spread, you will maximize your control over the putter. Anything you do in life requiring control and accuracy, you have your hands spread: bunting a baseball, playing pool or shooting a rifle. Having your hands together is great for hitting the ball 300 yards, but when it comes to putting we are most concerned with accuracy; not how far we can hit the ball.

View the Line

By opening your stance you will now be able to view the line with both eyes instead of your one, usually less dominant eye. This will greatly increase your accuracy.

Roll Theory

If you were asked to roll a ball to the hole instead of putting it, how would you do it? You would face the hole, bend slightly at the knees, and roll the ball to the hole. This is exactly how our putter is designed to help you putt better. We’ve all been rolling the ball since we were small children, now we are offering you a new to putt that even a 3-year-old is comfortable with.

Using the hammY

Step 1

Address the ball as you normally would using a traditional putting stance and grip, then bring your trailing foot closer to the ball (approximately 6"). Open your stance by pivoting the lead foot. The leading toe should point more toward the hole, opening the lower body.

Step 2

Drop the trailing hand about 6-10" below the lead hand or to your comfort level, and place it on the lower grip (The trailing shoulder should now be lower than the leading one.)

Step 3

Keep your weight centered over the balls of your feet to avoid any unnecessary pressure on your lower back. Allow your arms to hang in a comfortable, relaxed position from the shoulders, facilitating a smooth, controlled stroke. Your trailing hand will serve as guide, and a simple shoulder turn back and through will produce a consistent, accurate stroke.
