When I walked in the office last week, my assistant Mary had a sheepish grin on her face. "I have a surprise for you," she said. "Look behind your desk."
By her tone, I recognized that this was probably a pleasant surprise, and I recovered a long white box behind my desk. It had a very familiar logo of the leading golf manufacturer in the world . . . Callaway. I was starting to get excited.
I opened the box and, voila, there was a left-handed Callaway ERC Fusion driver with Natural Golf markings on the shaft and grip. A golf club made by Callaway Golf for my Natural Golf game. Wow!
My morning meetings were quickly cancelled, and I was on my way to the nearest driving range. A couple of dozen balls long and straight down the middle confirmed to me that this was an outstanding golf club. It has a solid feel, excellent weighting and the ball seemed to explode off the clubface. I could understand why the Callaway people are so excited about the performance of this club.
A couple of guys to my left couldn't help notice my performance and the markings on my bag. "Are you a Natural Golfer?" one of them asked. "Absolutely," I said. "It's the only way to play."
I went through my canned two-minute Natural Golf description and then showed them my new toy. They were amazed that Callaway was actually building Natural Golf clubs. They also loved the look and feel of the ERC Fusion. 1-888-NAT-GOLF will soon be getting calls from my new friends.
When I got back to the office, I pulled together the management group to rave about the performance of the club and to review our program to let Natural Golfers know of the opportunity to play Callaway clubs. I felt a real sense of responsibility to let my fellow Natural Golfers know about this major new development.
We are, indeed, thrilled to be able to offer the outstanding Callaway club line to Natural Golfers. The clubs that Natural Golf and Callaway have developed incorporate all the technological breakthroughs that Callaway is known for and the modifications that make these clubs ideal for Natural Golfers. The lie angle, shaft lengths, club weighting and grips have all been optimized to provide the highest possible level of playability for the Natural Golfer. Callaway spent over six months designing and testing these clubs to ensure performance was up to its exacting standards.
We at Natural Golf view making Callaway golf clubs available to Natural Golfers as a major milestone in our company's history. It expands the choices Natural Golfers have to include the leading brand name in golf. We believe it will also attract new converts to Natural Golf, particularly those who may have been unwilling to give up their Callaway clubs to play our way.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Callaway organization for all their hard work and support. We are very proud of the association and look forward to a lengthy and highly productive relationship.
We also look forward to long and straight shots for Natural Golfers with clubs made by the number one name in golf . . . Callaway.
